Mitchell River Delayed Harvest Trout Fishing, Mitchell River

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s delayed harvest is a popular program in which certain waters are stocked with rainbow, brook, and brown trout in Spring and Fall. Anglers are only allowed to harvest (keep) their catches from early June through September, thus creating better fishing conditions throughout the year.

Delayed harvest fishing is available in the Mitchell near Kapps Mill along River Road.

The Yadkin Valley is nationally renowned for its superb fishing opportunities. Year after year, fishermen flock from all over the country to fish in the pure mountain waters of the Mitchell River.

The Mitchell River House provides a premier getaway spot for your next fishing trip. With direct access to The Mitchell River, this vacation home is the perfect launching off point for a day of fly fishing in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

With comfortable bedrooms, plenty of living space, and a large kitchen and dining area, you and your friends and family will have the fun of fishing without having to “rough it.”

After a long day fishing the river, you can recount your adventures around the large outdoor fire pit. No matter where you are coming from, the Mitchell River House can be the perfect location for your next fishing trip.
